Manage collections
Group your shop products into collections and control how they appear in your storefront.
A collection groups articles from your shop — for example "Summer whites" or "Under CHF 20" — so shoppers can browse them together in your storefront. A collection can be manual (you pick the articles) or smart (Vinosoft picks articles automatically based on rules you set).
Open the Collections screen
Go to Shop → Collections to see all your collections, whether each one is published or still a draft, and how many articles it contains.
Create a collection
- On the Collections screen, click Create new.
- Enter a Name for the collection.
- Set Published to make it visible in the storefront, or leave it as Draft while you're still working on it.
- Enter an Alias — the URL slug used in the collection's storefront link (e.g.
summer-collection). Vinosoft slugifies what you type as you go. - Choose the Collection type:
- Manual — you add and remove articles yourself.
- Smart — articles are matched automatically by rules: categories, manufacturers, tags (with an any-of/all-of match mode), and a price range.
- Choose a default sort order for how articles appear in the collection (manual order, best-selling, alphabetical, price, date created, or a custom field), then click Save.
Add articles to a manual collection
Once you've saved a manual collection, an Add article section appears on its edit page:
- Search for an article in the dropdown.
- Click Add article.
- Repeat for each article you want in the collection.
Drag rows in the article list up or down to reorder them — this is the order shoppers see when the collection's sort order is set to manual. Use the row action to remove an article from the collection.
Set up rules for a smart collection
For a Smart collection, instead of adding articles by hand, set the matching rules:
- Categories and Manufacturers — select one or more to include.
- Tags — select one or more, and choose whether an article must match any or all of them.
- Price range — a minimum and maximum price.
Vinosoft keeps the collection's contents up to date automatically as articles change.
Image, description, and template
On the collection's edit page you can also:
- Upload an image shown as the collection's storefront banner.
- Add a description, formatted with the rich text editor.
- Set a custom storefront template if this collection should render differently from your theme's default collection page.
SEO fields
Set Meta title and Meta description to control how the collection page appears in search results. Leave them empty to fall back to your theme's defaults.
Edit or delete a collection
Use the row actions on the Collections list to edit or delete a collection. Deleting a collection removes the grouping only — the articles themselves stay in your shop.
