Managing tasks
Create tasks, assign them, set priority and dates, and move them across the board from Not started to Finished.
The Tasks board shows every task as a card in one of four columns — Not started, In progress, Finished, and Suspended. You work a task by creating it, filling in its details, and moving it along the board until it's done. Open the board under Tasks → Tasks.
Create a task
You can add a task in two ways:
- Quick add on the board — use the add control at the top of a column, type a name, and confirm. The task appears in that column and is ready to open and flesh out.
- Full details — click a card to open the details panel, where every field is available (see below).
A task needs at least a name and an assignee before it can be saved.
Fill in the details
Click any card to open its details panel on the right. From here you can set:
- Name — what needs doing (required).
- Status — Not started, In progress, Finished, or Suspended.
- Priority — Low, Normal, or High.
- Assignee — the colleague responsible for the task (required). Choose from your active users.
- Category — an optional grouping. See Task categories for how to set these up.
- Customer — link the task to a customer address. Start typing to search, then pick the match.
- Start date and End date — when work should begin and when it's due.
- Description — the fuller explanation of the task.
- Comment — a note added to the task's history when you save (see below).
Click Save to store your changes.
Move tasks across the board
Drag a card from one column to another to change its status — for example, from Not started to In progress when you begin, and to Finished when it's done. The board saves the new position automatically. You can also change the status from the Status field in the details panel.
Find the right task
Above the columns is a filter bar:
- Search — type to match tasks by name.
- Assignee — narrow the board to one person's tasks.
Track what changed
Every time a task is saved, Vinosoft records the change in the task's history — who made it, when, and which fields changed. Add a Comment when you save to leave a note alongside that entry, so the reason for a change is captured with it.
Delete a task
Open the task and use Delete in the details panel to remove it. You'll be asked to confirm first.
