Take a payment

Complete a sale with cash, a card terminal or TWINT QR, and print or skip the receipt.

When the cart is ready, choose a payment method at the bottom of the cart. Which buttons appear depends on the payment methods enabled under Settings → Checkout Settings (see POS app settings).

Cash

  1. Tap Pay with Cash. If a cash drawer is connected, it opens automatically.
  2. Amount Received starts at the exact total. If the customer hands over more, tap a quick amount (for example EUR 50) or type the amount on the keypad. Exact sets it back to the total.
  3. Change Due shows how much to give back.
  4. To finish without a printed receipt, switch on Skip Receipt.
  5. Tap Complete Sale.
The Cash Payment screen with Total Due, Amount Received and Change Due, the quick amount buttons (EUR 10 to EUR 200 and Exact), the keypad, the Skip Receipt switch and the green Complete Sale button.

Card

Tap Pay with Card. What happens next depends on the Card Reader chosen in POS app settings:

  • SumUp Solo or Worldline: the amount is sent to the terminal. Follow the prompts on the screen (for example Present card on terminal or Enter PIN on terminal). The sale completes as soon as the terminal approves the payment.
  • External Terminal (CCV): the terminal isn't connected to the iPad. Enter the amount on the card terminal and wait for it to approve the payment. Optionally, type the receipt or transaction number from the terminal slip into Terminal reference, which helps match the sale in the CRM. Then tap Confirm payment.

If Pay with Card is greyed out, no card reader is selected, or the reader isn't connected or signed in. Set it up under Settings.

TWINT QR

With TWINT QR (manual) switched on in the checkout settings, tap the TWINT QR button. Ask the customer to scan the QR code and pay. Make sure the payment has arrived, then tap Confirm payment.

After the payment

The sale is saved on the iPad, the receipt is printed (unless you skipped it), and the sale is sent to the CRM with the next receipt sync. If printing fails, the sale is still saved, and you can reprint the receipt from the Receipts tab (see Receipts and refunds).
