Ring up a sale

Add products to the cart by tapping, searching or scanning, then adjust quantities, prices and discounts.

You ring up sales on the Checkout tab. On the left are your categories and products. On the right is the cart with the running total and the payment buttons.

Add products to the cart

  • Tap a product tile to add one unit. Tap a category tile to show only that category's products.
  • Search: type a name into Search products.
  • Scan: tap the barcode icon in the top-left corner to scan with the iPad camera. A connected barcode scanner (for example, the scanner of a STAR mPOP) works too. A scanned product goes straight into the cart.
  • Filter: if filters are enabled in POS app settings, you can narrow the products by year, size, alcohol or country.

Change the cart

Each cart line shows the product, the unit price and the line total.

The cart with two lines (Aagne – Sauvignon Blanc ×1, Arbossar ×2). Each line has minus and plus buttons, the quantity, and the discount, edit-price and delete icons. The total incl. VAT and the Cart Discount row sit above the Pay with Cash button.
  • Quantity: tap − or +, or tap the quantity itself to type a number.
  • Line discount (tag icon): give a discount on this line, as an amount or as a percentage.
  • Edit price (pencil icon): set a new price for this line. Change either the net or the gross price, and the other is recalculated from the tax rate. Tap Reset to Original Price to undo it.
  • Remove (trash icon): take the line out of the cart.
  • Clear Cart: empty the whole cart.

Discount on the whole cart

Next to Cart Discount, tap Add. Choose the currency (fixed amount) or %, enter the value on the keypad and tap Apply Discount. To take it off again, open it and tap Remove Discount.

Coupons

If coupons are enabled for the till (Settings → Coupons Enabled), the discount screen has a Coupon tab. Enter the code under Enter Coupon Code and tap Apply Coupon.

Loyalty points

If loyalty is enabled (Settings → Loyalty Enabled), scan the customer's loyalty card. The app shows the Current Balance. Enter the Points to Redeem or tap Redeem Maximum, then tap Redeem. The points are taken off the cart total.

Park a cart with Multi-Cart

With Multi-Cart switched on (see POS app settings), you can put a cart on hold and serve the next customer. Tap + to start a new cart, and use the ‹ and › buttons to switch between the open carts.

Take the payment

When the cart is complete, tap Pay with Cash, Pay with Card or Pay with TWINT QR. See Take a payment.
