Devices and default settings

The iPads registered as tills, and what each one uses — language, currency, prices, receipt text, the client sales are invoiced to, and how shifts work.

POS → Devices lists the iPads registered as tills. You don't create a device here: an iPad registers itself the first time someone signs in to the POS app on it, and takes its starting settings from the POS Default Settings.

The list shows each till's Title, Device ID, the iPad's Device Name, Hardware Model, OS Version, App Version and when it was Last Seen.

Set up a till

Click the pencil icon on a device to edit it.

General

  • Title — the name the till goes by everywhere in the CRM, for example Shop till.
  • Language, Currency and Price Type (Net or Gross) for the till.
  • Number Format — how amounts are written on the till.
  • Storage location — the stock location the till sells from.
  • Coupons Enabled — whether coupons can be redeemed at this till.
  • Sales of all devices — lets this till see and refund every till's sales, not only its own.

Receipt — the Receipt Header and Receipt Footer text and a Receipt Image (your logo) printed on every receipt.

Invoicing — the Client Address sales are invoiced to when the cashier doesn't pick a customer (your walk-in customer). Under Client address per payment method you can send, for example, all TWINT sales to a different client. A customer chosen at the till always takes precedence.

Shifts

  • Shift mode — Automatic (a shift opens with the first sale and closes itself the next day), Manual (the cashier opens and closes it) or Disabled.
  • Cash variance allowed at close and Card variance allowed at close — how big a difference a shift may have and still close cleanly. Zero means any difference has to be confirmed with Close anyway (see Shifts and Z reports).

Shift history opens this till's shifts. Click Save when you're done.

POS Default Settings

POS Default Settings above the list holds the settings a new iPad starts with: the same General, Receipt and Invoicing fields as a device, without title and shifts. Change them before you register new tills, or use Reset to default on an existing one.

Deactivate a till

The cross icon deactivates a till you no longer use. It disappears from the list and from the filters on the Shifts and Day journal tabs; its shifts and receipts are kept.
