POS categories

Build the category tiles your tills show at checkout — names per language, colours, order and sub-categories — by hand or from your article categories.

The tills group your products into the category tiles a cashier taps at checkout. POS → Categories is where you build that tree. It's separate from your article categories, so the till can be arranged for quick selling rather than for your catalogue.

url: pos/articlecategory crop: ul.main-tabs, .content-container The POS Categories list with the Create new, Migrate from Article Categories and View as Tree buttons, and categories with their colour, order, parent category and number of articles.

The list shows each category's Color, Name, Order, Parent Category and how many Articles it holds.

Create a category

  1. Click Create new.
  2. Enter the Name. Use the language dropdown above it to switch languages and enter the name in each one your tills use.
  3. Set the Order (lower numbers come first) and pick a Color for the tile.
  4. To make it a sub-category, choose a Parent Category — for example Ticino under Red wine.
  5. Click Save.

Rearrange in the tree

View as Tree shows the categories as a tree. Drag a category by its handle above, below or into another one; the new order is saved straight away. Click a category to edit it. View as List switches back.

Start from your article categories

Migrate from Article Categories copies your article categories — names in every language, order and hierarchy — as POS categories, so you don't have to type them again.
